Patanjali to Invest in Five Nagaland Institutions

Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali Yogpeeth will set up five professional institutions in Nagaland

Kohima, Jan 20: Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali Yogpeeth will set up five professional institutions in Nagaland.
The foundation stones for the five institutes - Engineering College at Hevukhu, Ayurvedic College, Para Medical & Nursing College, Management College and an Institute of Fashion Technology - were unveiled at a programme held at Punglwa under Peren district recently.

Baba Ramdev said that the there was no political or religious agenda behind the initiative to set up the institutions but purely designed to help develop Nagaland in education as well as health sectors.
Experiencing the deplorable roads of Nagaland in his recent visit, Ramdev said that no matter how good the institution was, it would be of no value if the condition of roads remained the same. He said any development in Nagaland would be meaningless without good road infrastructure.

In this aspect, he asked the Nagaland government to make sure that the roads were properly repaired and asserted that he would help in bringing progress in the State.
About the aim of the institutions, Ramdev stated that quality education would be provided so that students need not go to mainland for higher education.
Ramdev’s close confidant Acharya Bal Krishna assured of establishing a high-end hospital along with the five institutions in Nagaland. He said the hospital and the institutions would cater to people not only from the Northeast, but from other States as well.

He added that the people from outside would not only experience quality education and health services, but also witness the natural beauty of Nagaland.
Chief Minister TR Zeliang thanked Swami Ramdev and Acharya Bal Krishna for their noble gesture of investing in Nagaland for projects that were of utmost importance for the youth of the State.
He said the decision to start five professional colleges by Patanjali Yogpeeth would go a long way in bringing quality education to Nagaland and help local youth acquire skills that would enable them to find sustainable livelihoods. He said the State government was delighted to provide land for the projects in the fervent hope that work on these projects would start soon.

“As we all know, Patanjali today has become an institution and is regarded as one of the fastest growing enterprises in the world,” he remarked.

The chief minister said Baba Ramdev, also known as the Yoga Guru, along with Acharya Bal Krishna had made Patanjali a household name in just about 12 years not only in India but the world.
Zeliang added that the five upcoming institutions would have the potential to become centres of excellence not only in Nagaland, but also in the entire Northeast.
Zeliang said the initiative of the State government to provide land to Patanjali for investment had the potential of becoming a model public-private- partnership.
